Ages 4 to 8

A large, beautiful picture book that offers fun rhymes and repeating prose to its young audience. Illustrator John Beder creates expressive, colourful depictions of the four main characters: great bear and baby bear, great hunter and small hunter. A sleepy wakeup leads to a new, crisp morning in the snow, where a chance encounter by the two groups leads to a special experience for both youngsters. A gentle story where the "hunters" are only armed with cameras, and the polar bears, who seem to be big, cuddly toys, are still approached with respect and viewed from a distance.
