In the village of Inuksutalik in Quebec's Far North lives a boy named Tugaarq. Gifted with an extraordinary sensitivity to sound, this little Inuk boy is able to hear nature, to perceive every sound in the world, from the sound of the northern lights to snowflakes swirling in a storm. This gift teaches Tugaarq that in order to be happy; we must listen to nature, to other people, and to ourselves. Inuk poet Emily Novalinga tells the story in Inuktitut and French about the joy of being open-minded to the world around us. The book contains watercolour illustrations that do a marvellous job of evoking northern landscapes.
