Messages From Our Partners

CLA Logo The Canadian Library Association (CLA) celebrates with pride its new role as a partner in the Read Up On It program on this, the tenth anniversary of this commendable literacy initiative. CLA is honoured to join the National Library of Canada, the National Literacy Secretariat of Human Resources Development Canada, Canada Post, and ASTED in a collaborative venture that delivers valuable Canadian resource materials to libraries, schools, bookstores and other literacy advocates, thus enhancing their ability to promote literacy and provide support to literacy programming in their communities.

The Canadian Library Association shares with the Read Up On It partners a deep commitment to the promotion of literacy as an essential component for a learning society and to the fostering of family literacy.

Read with us at the library.

ASTED LogoThe Association pour l'avancement des sciences et des techniques de la documentation (ASTED) is particularly pleased to be associated with the Read Up On It program, which this year is celebrating 10 years of promoting literacy. Since ASTED is celebrating 25 years of existence, this association with the National Library of Canada, the National Literacy Secretariat, Canada Post and the Canadian Library Association offers an ideal opportunity to mark this happy anniversary while contributing to an initiative of national scope that promotes knowledge. All of those involved in this program are pleased to be enhancing the quality of life of Canadians by providing them with essential access to knowledge via reading and the multiple possibilities it offers for discovery.

ASTED and its partners in the Read Up On It program share the conviction that the promotion of literacy is inseparable from the progress of a modern society. We fervently hope that libraries in francophone communities will participate actively in this collective effort, enabling all of us to "read up on" every subject thanks to the resources of a library.

Happy reading!

Canada Post LogoCanada Post is pleased to be the Official Carrier for the Read Up On It kits. As a proud supporter of literacy, Canada Post knows that encouraging a love of reading and writing among Canada's children is the best way to ensure our country's future prosperity.
