Leo the flying squirrel runs away from his family circus. He takes refuge underground for the winter in the home of two moles. During the cold months, Leo discovers his talent for writing and drawing and becomes accustomed to a whole new lifestyle. With the return of spring, the young squirrel is ready to set off in search of his family. The moles have taught him a lot about himself, and so, armed with new determination, Leo joins his parents.
